EXIT ON THE LEFT pulls the plug... ::
That's right, some really bad news this time, Exit On The Left is no longer... no better way to announce this than with their very own words, so here we go with a statement from the band...
Hey Friends and Fans,
To some of you this might come as a surprise but after 3 great years of being Exit On The Left we decided to call our quits. We've always been a band with members who listen to a variety of genres, this being one of our pluspoints has now become our downfall as well. As you know we were planning on writing a new album but during the working process it just became clearer to us we were drifting further and further apart music wise. This meant comprimising but also losing passion ...and music without passion just ain't the same. We decided to split the band up and remain friends. Over the years we've had the pleasure of meeting alot of cool people that helped us out especially Johan @ Funtime, all the people @ Jh De Choke and JC de Klinker for giving us the opportunity to play our first shows. We'll never forget how much the belgium scene has helped us out and obviously couldn't have gotten there without the help of our friends in Campus, Homer, The Rocket, Break Of Day, Five Days Off (Rip), Sparkle Of Hope (Rip), Midway Home!, Versa, Makeshift Hearts, Second Base, Billy The Kill, When Hope Escapes, Destine, Grey Like Masquerade, Face The Fax, the Octopussy's,... and all the ones we forgot to mention.
Over the passed months too much has changed
We're moving foreward in different ways
And I just can't take it anymore
For all the fighting I've grown too old
And so here we go again
I'm not the same kid I was back then
And I had it with this war
There's still other things to adore
And this is going down.
We'll be playing our farewell show at Funtimefest on the 2nd of October this show will also feature Ted on Bass as we will be playing the old, new and inbetween stuff. IF YOU WANT TO HEAR YOUR FAVORITE EOTL SONG ONE LAST TIME, YOU CAN! Just send your top 3 eotl songs to eotlbookings@gmail.com.
Eotl splitting up doesn't mean the end of our musical careers though. Jonas will be starting a new band and you will also be able to see Bo, Ed and Tom who are working on a new band called "ARIZONA".
We hope to see you all at Funtimefest and party one last time!
We'll miss you!
- Bo, Ed, Jonas, Ted & Tom
